The National Boxing Championship 2025 was successfully held at the Horana Municipal Council Grounds from 26 to 30 January 2026.
Competing against leading boxing teams from across the country, the Army emerged as the overall champions under the guidance of Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekubura RWP RSP ndu psc, Chairman of the Army Boxing Committee.
The Army secured the Best Boxing Team of the Year title, winning the Muththaia Savior Rose Memorial Cup, along with the Sergeant Selvadorai Memorial Cup for Champion of the Tournament. Additionally, the Army Red Team finished as runners-up.
The Army men’s teams recorded an impressive medal tally of 8 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Army Women’s Boxing Team clinched the champions’ trophy with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. Lance Corporal P.A.R. Prasanna of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was named the Best Boxer of the National Boxing Championship 2025.
