The military funeral of the late Brigadier D.C.J.W. Jayasekara (Retd) of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment took place at the crematorium of St. Theresa’s Church, Kelaniya, on 04 November 2025.

The Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) conducted a Fallen War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony on 05 November 2025 at the SLLI Regimental Centre, amidst military traditions, paying tribute to the gallant soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the 144th Anniversary celebrations of the Regiment.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, officially visited the Security Forces (Central) on 01 November 2025 to inspect the operational readiness as well as administrative and logistic preparedness.

Troops of the 9th Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) and the 3rd Regiment of the Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) successfully completed the construction of a new Dhamma School building at Sevanapitiya Sama Viharaya and handed over on 26 October 2025.

The event brought immense pride to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army, as the athletes secured an impressive tally of 12 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.

A group of Sri Lanka Army athletes who represented the nation at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 returned to the island on 28 October 2025.

Sri Lanka Army athletes delivered outstanding performances on 25 October 2025 at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship, held in Ranchi, India, earning multiple medals and bringing immense pride to the nation and the Sri Lanka Army. In total, Army athletes won 12 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze medals.
