The Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing organised the launch of the revised Sri Lanka Mine Action Completion Strategy (2025-2027) of the National Mine Action Programme on 28 August 2025 at BMICH.

The 51 Infantry Division celebrated its 30th Anniversary on 23 August 2025 at its Headquarters premises, under the guidance of Major General M.P.N.A Muthumala USP psc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 51 Infantry Division.

Brigadier C.D Wickramanayake WV RSP ndc assumed duties as the 22nd Chief Field Engineer on 15 August 2025 at the Army Headquarters.

Fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF), who fought against LTTE terrorists during 1987 - 1990 in Sri Lanka, were commemorated and their sacrifices remembered at the Indian Peace Keeping Force Monument in Palaly on Friday, 15 August 2025, to coincide with the Independence Day of India.

A series of programmes were held at the Regimental Center Military Intelligence Corps on 06 August 2025 to mark the assumption of duties of Senior Officer Major General T.N Majeed RSP USP ndc ISC as the new Colonel Commandant of the Military Intelligence Corps.

Major General K.H.M.S Wickramarathna RSP assumed office as the 8th Commander of 1 Corps on 09 August 2025 during a ceremony at the Headquarters, 1 Corps, Kilinochchi.
