Major General H.C.L Galappatthi RSP USP assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division on 4 December 2024, amidst religious blessings.

In accordance with military traditions, the newly appointed GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour. Subsequently, he placed his signature on an official document to mark his assumption of duties. Adding memories to the occasion, he posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling on the premises.

Addressing the troops, the GOC emphasized the importance of professionalism, integrity, and operational excellence. The formalities concluded with an All-Ranks tea, providing an opportunity for the GOC to interact with the troops. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
