Responding to the request of the Disaster Management Centre Hambantota, the troops of the 12 Infantry Division along with disaster respond team of Hambantota District, immediately attended and prevented the erosion of the Estuary Mouth of Godawaya Lagoon in Ambalantota on 28 and 29 November 2024.

This was carried out under the guidance of Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 12 Infantry Division.
