The Gajaba Regiment (GR) marked its 41st anniversary on 14 October 2024, with a series of events under the guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment GR, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B. Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc.

Upon arrival, the Colonel of the Regiment GR was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Following this, he paid tribute to the Regiment's Founding Father, the late Major General W.I.V.K.M. Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc, by laying a floral wreath at his statue. The celebrations included a ceremonial parade and concluded with an All-Ranks Lunch.

Additionally, on 13 October 2024, the GR commemorated its fallen War Heroes at the Gajaba War Heroes' Monument. The ceremony honoured 171 Officers and 4,068 Other Ranks who sacrificed their lives for the motherland during the war, with 176 Officers and 4,463 men sustaining serious injuries, many resulting in permanent disabilities.
