The 1 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (1 SLAWC) celebrated its 45th Anniversary on 1 September 2024, amidst military formalities, under the guidance of Major E.M.H.C De Seram psc, the Commanding Officer of 1 SLAWC.

Upon arrival, the troops welcomed the Commanding Officer in a Guard Turnout at the main entrance. She then paid tribute to the fallen War Heroes by laying a floral wreath at the 1 SLAWC War Heroes' Monument, followed by a Battalion parade, and posed for a group photograph with all ranks.

Later, plaques were presented to the next of kin of two brave war heroines, along with the donation of dry ration packs to 14 civilian staff members of 1 SLAWC.

Subsequently, soldiers who excelled in sports events and courses were recognized with gifts. The day's event concluded with an All-Ranks lunch.

Additionally, on 29 August 2024, the troops organized a Bodhi Pooja and Dhamma sermon to invoke blessings for the troops and merit for the fallen War Heroes of 1 SLAWC.
