61 Infantry Division's New GOC Takes over Duties

Brigadier K.T.P. De Silva RSP ndu psc of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 61 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities on 11 October 2024 at the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa.
The newly appointed GOC was warmly welcomed by staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout. In his new office, the GOC symbolically signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties after the religious observances.
Soon after, the GOC was invited to plant a sapling on the premises before posing for a few group photographs and attending a formal all ranks tea. Later, in line with military formalities, the GOC addressed all ranks, expressing his vision for the Division's future.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's events.
