Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, the Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) and the General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, visited the 5 (V) MIR on 13 October 2024.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel K.A.K.S Kodituwakku USP, Commanding Officer of 5 (V) MIR, and honoured in a guard turnout. He planted a sapling and posed for a photograph with Officers and Other Ranks. After a detailed briefing and camp inspection, the Senior Officer addressed the troops.

By concluding the visit, he penned down complimentary remarks in the visitors' book. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
