Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc assumed duties as the new Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), on 8 October at the SLLI Regimental Centre, Panagoda.

Upon his arrival at the Regimental Centre, the new Colonel of the Regiment was greeted in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour.

Afterwards, he signed the official document, symbolizing his assumption of duties in the presence of the Maha Sangha. He then paid tribute to fallen War Heroes by laying a floral wreath at the SLLI war heroes' monument.

In his inaugural address to all Ranks, he delivered an inspiring message, highlighting his vision for the regiment’s future and encouraging Officers and Other Ranks to continue their proud tradition of service. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
