563 Infantry Brigade Marks 27th Anniversary

The 563 Infantry Brigade proudly celebrated its 27th Anniversary on 4 October 2024. As part of the commemorations, Brigade troops organized several events, including a flag blessing and a dairy food offering at Sri Maha Bodhi, Anuradhapura.
Additionally, school supplies were distributed to children of the Alagalla Pottukulam Virama Muniwar, and a ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony was held to invoke blessings on all serving ranks including soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the war, and currently receiving treatments.
Following military traditions, the Commander of the 563 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Y.M.S.C.B. Jayathilake RSP USP, was honored with a Guard Turnout and joined to plant a saplings aftermath.
The Commander later addressed the Brigade troops, reflecting the Brigade’s history outlining the way forward.
Officers and Other Ranks of the 563 Infantry Brigade actively participated in these celebratory events, making the occasion both solemn and memorable.
