58 Infantry Division bid farewell to its outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General C.A Rajapaksha RSP, on 14 September 2024. 58 Infantry Division extended the heartiest salute on his retirement at the end of more than 35 years of active service as one of the prominent person of the Sri Lanka Army.

The day’s programme commenced with the arrival of Major General C.A Rajapaksha RSP and Colonel M.M.W Rupasinghe, Colonel (Admin and Quatraing) warmly welcomed him following a Guard Turnout. The Colourful Guard of Honour was reviewed by the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division accompanied by the Parade Commander together with Colonel L.R Amarasekara, Colonel General Staff in accordance with military traditions.

Later, the outgoing GOC, 58 Infantry Division addressed All-Ranks and joined for All-Rank tea before the culmination of the day event.

Brigade Commanders, Commandant- Battalion Training School of 58 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the day events.
