New Commander, Security Forces-Central Assumes Duties

Major General G.M.N. Perera RWP RSP USP ndc assumed office as the 20th Commander of the Security Forces-Central on 15 September 2024.
The newly appointed Commander was warmly welcomed in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Afterwards, he planted a sapling to mark the occasion and participated in a group photograph. He then assumed his duties amidst religious observances and signed an official document to signify his acceptance of the new office. After the formalities, the new Central Commander addressed the troops and shared refreshments with all ranks.
Subsequently, a comprehensive briefing was conducted in the conference hall with the participation Senior Officers at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and under-command units.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
