Newly Appointed Colonel Commandant’s Inaugural Visit to 4 SLAC

Major General M.S. Devapriya USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of the 64 Infantry Division and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC), made his inaugural official visit to the 4 SLAC on 9 September 2024.

Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel G.I.D.D. Dharmaratne RSP USP USACGSC, the Commanding Officer of the 4 SLAC. He was then honoured in a Guard Turnout at the entrance, followed by the laying of a floral tribute in memory of fallen War Heroes.

During his visit, he planted a sapling at the camp and posed for a group photograph with Officers and Other Ranks to commemorate his visit to the 4 SLAC. The Colonel Commandant also attended a detailed briefing from the Commanding Officer, followed by an inspection of the camp premises. Then, the Senior Officer participated in the all ranks tea, followed by the troop address.

The day's events concluded with lunch at the Officers’ Mess, where the Colonel Commandant left remarks in the Visitors' Book before his departure.
