3(Volunteer) Gemunu Watch (GW) under command to the Security Forces (West) celebrated its 59th Battalion Day on 01 September 2024 amidst of military traditions and religious rituals under the guidance of Major H.P.D.C Thilakarathne, the Commanding Officer of 3 (V) GW.

The celebrations began on 30 August 2024, with a Bodhi Puja at held Mathara Bodhi to honour fallen War Heroes followed by a morning alms-giving at Migadaya Viharaya, Mathara.

On 01 September 2024 following deep rooted military formalities a Guard Turnout presented by the troops to the Commanding Officer. The day's agenda included a troop address, followed by a customary All Ranks tea and lunch.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the programme.
