The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) celebrated "World Coconut Day" on 02 September 2024 with a special programme focused on planting coconut saplings at the SLAVF Headquarters.

During the programme, Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of SLAVF, along with Senior Officers and other participants, planted coconut saplings in the area. The Silvermil Foundation, Loluwagoda, Mirigama, generously donated 500 coconut saplings for the event.

The Deputy Commandant of SLAVF, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks also participated in the event.
