Under the guidance of Major General K.H.M.S Wikramaratne RSP, General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, a Special Basic Outboard Motor Boat and Oar Boat Training Course was organized for 68 Officers and Other Ranks.

The training was conducted in two phases at the Army Engineers' Training School in Embilipitiya from 5 August 2024 to 13 August 2024. This course aimed to equip participants with essential motorboat operation skills, particularly for handling flood situations and assisting in search and rescue operations during natural disasters. Upon completion, participants were awarded certificates.
