The New Badges Introduction Ceremony for the Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) and Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (SLAPC) took place at the 1 SLRC on 09 August 2024. Major General W.G.P Sisira Kumara RSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Upon arrival, the Deputy Commandant was welcomed in a Guard Turnout by the 1 SLRC troops, followed by the planting of a sapling to mark his visit. He also left a note of appreciation in the Visitors’ Book.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Commandant pinned new identification badges on 22 Senior Officers and Officers. A video clip showcasing the history of SLRC and SLAPC was presented, and the Coordinating Officer delivered an introductory speech on the new badges.

The event concluded with the presentation of a memento to the Deputy Commandant as a token of appreciation. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the ceremony.
