The auspicious harvesting of paddy, sown in a 30-acre field in Ridiyagama, was held on 30 July 2024. Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony began with traditional and religious rituals before the troops, who had sown the paddy seeds several months ago, stepped into the fields carrying sickles in the presence of the day’s Chief Guest.

The 30 acres of paddy fields were cultivated by the troops of the 2 Regiment Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock under the supervision of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock.
