Major General C.A. Rajapaksha RSP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 58 Infantry Division, made an official visit to the 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (1 SLSR) to assess its combat readiness on 24 July 2024.

During the visit, visiting GOC reviewed equipment use by the Search and Rescue and Riot Control Teams and Commanding Officer Battalion briefed on the Battalion's combat and disaster response readiness.

Addressing the troops, the GOC praised their duties during deployments in Colombo and emphasised the importance of maintaining high discipline and raising awareness about illegal activities. To conclude the visit, GOC penned complimentary remarks in the visitors' book of 1 SLSR.
