Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment during a special meeting commended the outstanding service of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) troops who served the 13th contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and returned home.

Representing the Army, Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment's 10 Officers and 115 Other Ranks participated in the 13th contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (SLFPC) in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They returned to Sri Lanka after completing their 1 year-long service in Lebanon on 8 March 2023.

After inviting all those returnees to the SLLI Regimental Centre, Major General Channa Weerasuriya appreciated the services rendered during their stay in Lebanon as Peacekeepers.
