2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops, serving the 144 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ- West rehearsed a mock emergency operation along the Kelani river banks on Wednesday (23 August) in order to learn about ‘Disaster Management’ practices.

During the rehearsal, 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops were educated on both theoretical and practical aspects as regards emergency measures, quick operational procedures, evacuation techniques, relocation and use of technical resources, flood relief roles, etc.

Guidelines given by the Commander, Security Forces-West, Major General U.D. Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division Brigadier K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP and the close supervision of the Commander, 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K.M.V. Kodithuwakku enabled the Commanding Officer, 2 (V) SLLI to conduct the rehearsal effectively.
