On an initiative taken by Brigadier Subath Sanjeewa, Commander, Air Mobile Brigade of the 53 Infantry Division under command to the 1 Corps HQ, a stock of artificial limbs, spectacles and medicines were distributed among the needy in the Embilipitiya area during 17-19 March 2023.

Organized at Sri Bodhirajarama Temple premises in Embilipitiya, the three-day long project was sponsored by Colombo Rotary Club at the request of the Air Mobile Brigade.

The mobile clinic during three days treated more than 4000 civilians and provided medicines and some of them were referred to the nearest Base Hospital for further consultations. In addition, 17 artificial limbs were also distributed among the deserving in close contact with medical technicians during the arrangement.

650 spectacles were also distributed among most deserving people in the area after their vision capacity was examined during the three-day long arrangement.

Troops of the Air Mobile Brigade with the blessings of Major General Nishantha Manage, Commander, 1 Corps and Major General Shanaka Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding, 53 Infantry Division made all arrangements in this connection.

Brigadier Subath Sanjeewa, Commander, Air Mobile Brigade graced the inaugural occasion as the Chief Guest.
