Brigadier K.D.M.L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc assumed duties as the Director of the Directorate of the Army Bands and Performing Arts on 12 July 2024.

The arriving Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Director of the Directorate of the Army Bands and Performing Arts, and Army dancing troupe ushered him to his new office. Later, a brief religious ceremony was conducted to invoke blessings for his new appointment at the Director's office, and the newly appointed Director signed an official document, signifying the formal acceptance of office.

The event concluded with a troop address followed by tea for all ranks at the premises. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
