MIC Celebrates New Year

Officers and Other Ranks of Military Intelligence Corps (MIC), together with their family members participated in Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival celebrations, organized at the MIC Regimental Centre on 26 April 2024.
The festival commenced after Major General R.M.M Ranasinghe WWV RWP RSP, Colonel Commandant of MIC, lighting the traditional oil lamp.
Bun eating, pillow-fights, raban playing, eye-placing on the elephant, tug of war, fancy dress parade and a number of other traditional and fun-making games dominated the day’s proceedings to the much amusement of all the onlookers.
At the end of the festival, Colonel Commandant of MIC and several Senior Officers gave away gifts and trophies to the winners in different events and competitions.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, their spouses and children had a time full of fun and entertainment, associated with New Year traditions and cultural events.
