The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Base Workshop located in Katubedda celebrated its 31st Anniversary on 01 March 2024 amidst religious observances and military formalities under the guidance of Colonel R.C. Jayathunga, the Commandant of SLEME Workshop, Katubedda.

Prior to the anniversary day, troops participated in a bodhi pooja ceremony. On the anniversary day, in accordance with military traditions, a ceremonial Guard Turnout was presented to the Commandant. Adding memories to the event, the Commandant planted a sapling in the premises. Additionally, troops interacted with each other during an All-Ranks get together.
