Troops attached to the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 521 Infantry Brigade of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ - Jaffna built a new house for a deserving family in Thambiapulam Alwai, Point Pedro with sponsorship provided by philanthropists based in Canada.

This is the 773rd house built for Jaffna civilians by the Army with the support of donors and overseas philanthropists in the past couple of years.

Canada-resident Mrs Thabitha Cinnaiya through ‘Wanni Aid Canada’ organization with the coordination of Major General R Ratnasingham (Retd) sponsored the construction by supplying raw materials in cooperation with the 521 Infantry Brigade and the 52 Infantry Division.

The Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc on Tuesday (26 Dec) graced the warming ceremony of the new house as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division and the Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade.

The sponsorship enabled the troops to provide pieces of new furniture to the beneficiaries at the same occasion.

Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division and Colonel M.H.R Fernando RWP RSP USP, Brigade Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade completely supervised the project.
