In response to a request of the Gampaha Divisional Secretariat, 141 Infantry Brigade troops serving under the Sector 15 moved swiftly and cleared several trees, about to fall on a house in Horagolla North Grama Niladhari Division in Ganemulla on Friday (6 October).

Due to inclement weather conditions and gushing winds, residents in the area fearing that their houses would be damaged as several trees behind the houses were swinging in the gushing winds complained to the nearest Division Secretariat which in turn sought the Army assistance for removal of those risky trees.

Major General W. H. K. S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commander of the Security Forces - West along with Major General K. A. W. N. H Bandaranayake, General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division and under the close supervision of Brigadier L. G. B. Kariyawasam RWP RSP USP, the Brigade Commander 141 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of the Sector 15 closely supervised and instructed the troops accordingly.

The emergency need was completed within a matter of two hours.
