Colonel Hassan Amir, Defence Advisor to the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Colombo met with the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc on Monday (24) at the Army Headquarters.

During the cordial interaction, Colonel Hassan Amir exchanged views with the Chief Field Engineer and focused on the possibilities and requirements for further enhancement of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training programmes for the Maldives National Defence Force. This has been planned to achieve by providing EOD experts from the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers in future.

Moreover, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc and Colonel Hassan Amir recalled the long-lasting bonds of goodwill, cooperation, and understanding that exist between the Armed Forces of both countries during the meeting, and underlined the importance of joint training.

The General Staff Officer I (Field) and the Commanding Officer of the 9 Field Engineer Regiment also participated in the meeting.
