Major General S.B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, Commander 1 Corps HQ made his maiden visit to the Special Forces Brigade in Mundimurippu, Vavuniya on Friday (21 July 2023).

Troops of the Special Force Brigade presented a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the camp premises. Afterwards, Brigadier M.P.K.L Amarasinghe WWV RWP RSP, Commander of Special Forces Brigade delivered a comprehensive briefing on the functions of the Special Forces Brigade.

Next, the visiting 1 Corps Commander was invited to plant a sapling inside the camp premises as a token of memory before he addressed the troops.

Meanwhile, Commander of 1 Corps on 14 July made his first official visit to the 53 Infantry Division in Dambulla under command to the 1 Corps HQ. He was welcomed by Major General P.G.P.S Rathnayake RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 53 Infantry Division. Next, the General Officer Commanding briefed the visiting 1 Corps Commander on their role and tasks.
