Brigadier D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP of the Gajaba Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant, Combat Training School (CTS), Ampara on Thursday (July 20) amidst religious observances and military formalities.

The incoming Commandant was warmly welcomed by Colonel M.K.A.D Chandramal, Commanding Officer, CTS after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout salute at the entrance. Afterwards, he symbolically left his signature for an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office after own religious observances. He also left memories by planting a sapling inside the ATS compound.

Prior to this appointment, Brigadier D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP served as the Director of the Directorate of Real Estate and Quartering. He succeeds Brigadier R.P Munipura RWP RSP who has now been appointed as the Brigadier General Staff of 1 Corps.
