The completely-renovated Squash Court, Tennis Court and the Warrant Officers’ and the Sergeants’ Mess were vested again in the Army personnel at the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni on Tuesday (11), thanks to the efforts of Major General C. D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni.

An exhibition match in the renovated courts warmed the re-done pitches amid cheers of a gathering of sports fans in the Army. The Brigadier General Staff & Brigadier Admin and Quartering at the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-Wanni) closely coordinated the renovation work.

Within a few weeks, technical staff in the Army carried out the project to the required standards. During the simple ceremony, the Commander, Security Forces-Wanni, Major General C. D Ranasinghe RWP RSP opened the new Mess Bar facility of the renovated Warrant Officers’ and the Sergeants’ Mess and interacted with those Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs).

At the end of the exhibition match, players, referees and contributors to the success of the projects were also highly appreciated by presenting mementoes to all of them.
