Days prior to his retirement, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Crops of Military Police (SLCMP) and the Commander, Forward Maintenance Area-Mullaitivu Major General A.L Illangakoon recently made formal visits to the 5 SLCMP and 6 SLCMP camps and met troops.

On his arrival, the Commanding Officer of 5 SLCMP, Major M. Suddagala warmly welcomed the Colonel Commandant at the main entrance. He was accorded a Guard Turnout before he joined planting of a sapling in the camp premises. Several group photographs and a troop address added more importance to the occasion. Subsequently, All Ranks joined refreshments at the Corporals’ Club.

Meanwhile, Major General A.L Ilangakoon recently made a similar formal visit to the 6 SLCMP at Mullaitivu where he was welcomed by the Commanding Officer 6 SLCMP with a Guard Turnout at the entrance.

The same formalities as in the above 5 SLCMP took place inside the camp before he addressed the troops and thanked them.
