Army male and female Judo players competing in the 59th National Judo Championship, held at Nawalapitiya Jayatillake Indoor stadium for three days during 6-8 January secured the overall championship in both men's and women's categories.

The championship tournament, competed by 382 Judo players of 39 island-wide Judo teams of men and women was organized by the Sri Lanka Judo Association. The Sri Lanka Air Force team was adjudged the runner-up.

Major General Priyantha Weerasinghe, Chairman, Sri Lanka Judo Committee participated in the awarding ceremony on Sunday (8 January) when Army Champions were awarded.
