62 Division HQ Launches Tug of War Training for School Instructors

The 62 Infantry Division with the intention of further motivating and training physical and sports training instructors at government schools in the North Central Province, focused largely on the induction of students into the Tug of War sport organized a valuable training project for 58 sports instructors on Wednesday (Jan 04) at Information Technology and Distance Learning Hub of the North Central Province.

This timely-gesture was initiated according to a concept of Major General Janaka Ranasinghe, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 62 Infantry Division and President of the National Tug of War Federation of Sri Lanka. The training session was comprised of both theoretical and practical aspects, contributed by members of both National Tug of War team and the Army which has bagged many accolades at regimental and national levels.

Upon conclusion of the training, the GOC, 62 Infantry Division and Federation officials awarded certificates to all the participants. Mrs. M.M Hettiarachchi, Zonal Education Director of Anuradapura, Mr Karunarathna Bandara, Sports Director of Zonal Education, Anuradhapura, Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the closing hour.
