1 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 143 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters - West immediately attended to a public concern in the Kavisigamuwa Grama Niladari Division of the Rideegama Divisional Secretariat in Kurunegala area and cleaned a line of drinking water wells at the request of the people in the area.

On being informed, Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West instructed the 14 Infantry Division to dispatch a contingent of troops to clean those polluted drinking water wells which remained contaminated after those wells were inundated with recent floods.

The cleaning programme along with respective residents in the area continued for three days (27-29 Dec) with the participation of troops.
