16th December 2022
The 66 Infantry Division marked its 13th anniversary amid religious blessings and military formalities under the guidance of Brigadier Nalin Jayawardena, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Infantry Division.
Prior to the anniversary day, several multi-religious observances were conducted in the Shrine at the 66 Division, St Mary's Church in Pooneryn, Murugan Kovil in Pallikuda and Jumma Muslim Mosque in Kilinochchi to invoke blessings on the troops serving the Infantry Division.
On the anniversary day, the GOC, 66 Infantry Division, was warmly welcomed by the Division's staff and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops. Planting of a sapling on the camp premises by the GOC and posing for a group photograph added memories to the occasion.
