The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 52 Division Major General Sanjeewa Fernando made his first formal visit to the recently-deployed 11 Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) Regimental Headquarters at Kovilakandy on Thursday (03).

The General Officer Commanding 52 Division received a drive-pass welcome, presented by 11 SLE troops before the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel K. K. P. Pussewala and all the staff in the 11 SLE. During the visit, the General Officer Commanding planted a mango sapling to mark his first visit to the 11 SLE camp and addressed those troops, in which he explained his vision for the smooth conduct of affairs in the 52 Division's areas of responsibility. Afterwards, the General Officer Commanding had a field visit inside the 11 SLE detachment and also visited the Shanmuga Pre School premises in Pumpugar area.

The Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Indika Perera, and Staff Officers of the 52 Infantry Division were present during the visits.
