At Monk’s Request, Troops Plant more Jasmine Saplings

The second phase of Jasmine sapling planting at Dathukanda Sri Jinendrarama Raja Maha Viharaya compound in Kalalpitiya was launched by Army personnel of 6 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) of the 141 Brigade on Monday (31) at the request of the Chief Incumbent.

The project for planting of 1000 saplings was launched under the instructions of the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade with the blessings of the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division and the Commander, Security Forces - West. The first phase of planting about 500 saplings took place earlier by the troops.

Further, the project is closely supervised by the Commanding Officer of the 6 Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery who provided saplings to the monks of the temple.
