Troops serving the 58 Division HQ complex in Puttalam in response to a request of the chief incumbent at Dangahawela Sri Dharmaraja Viharaya joined the veneration of sacred relics of the Enlightened One during an exposition of the same when they were taken in a procession across the HQ premises on Tuesday (18).

The exposition of relics coincided with the annual ‘Katina Pinkama’ of this temple.

Major General Wipula Ihalage, General Officer Commanding, 58 Division, together with the staffers in the 58 Division paid their respect to sacred skeletal remains of the Buddha when the process reached the main entrance to the 58 Division HQ. A gathering of civilians, resident around the HQ compound also paid their respect to sacred relics, together with the troops.
