The outgoing General Officer Commanding of the 24 Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama was saluted in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the 24 Division Headquarters premises on Sunday (2).

On arrival, a Guard Turnout at the entrance saluted him before he was invited to the formal Guard of Honour in the parade square. He also posed for a group photo with all officers and joined refreshments with all ranks at the 24 Division HQ.

The outgoing GOC on the eve of relinquishment of his appointment was also awarded a memento towards the end of the occasion.

All Brigade Commanders, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin and Quartering, Senior Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops were present during the occasion.
