A community programme sponsored by the Alumini Members of the Colombo Royal College, together with old scholars of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura on an initiative taken by Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya and his team at the request of the 62 Division educated students at Ehetugaswewa College and Padavi Sripura Track 11,12 Samanpura College on 29 September 2022.

The project ‘Pehasarani 2022’ accordingly educated the girl students on ‘Menstruation and Adolescent Mind’ through a psychological lecture, conducted by Dr Dinuka Weerasinghe of the Child Psychiatric Unit at Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital. 250 girls under the project received sanitary napkin packs to the value of Rs 530,000/= free of charge.

General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi initiated the project under the supervision of the 622 Brigade Commander, Colonel Enoj Herath. The event was organized by the troops of 9 Gajaba Regiment following guidelines given by Lieutenant Colonel M.S Munasinghe.
