Army troops serving the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni as per directions of Major General Champaka Ranasnghe, Commander, SF-Wanni took part in a Special Reserve Platoon Course that could refresh knowledge on alert security operations and firing skill, handling GPS, Martial Arts, Self Defence Methods, Unarmed Combat, VIP Protection, Introduction of Explosives and Demolitions, Handling Weapons, Search and Rescue Operations, Firing, Rules of Engagements, Social Operation Procedures, and Internal Security from 22nd August 2022 to 03rd October 2022.at the Battalion Training School at Pompaimadu.

The closing remarks of the course were delivered by the Commander of the Security Forces -Wanni with the participation of Major General Manjula Kariyawasam, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division, Senior Officers and Officers.

The Officers and Other Ranks including Lieutenant U M T K De Silva of 20 GR won the award for the Best Platoon Commander and Corporal Premasiri of 10 (V) Gamunu Watch was awarded the trophy for the All Rounder. Private M. Sandaruwan of 2 MIR became the Best Shooter while Private Amarasena of 9 GR won the award for Best Physical Instructor.

In addition, the 54 Division (Best 8 Man Team) as the best team grabbed the trophy for the Best Platoon.
