Quartermaster Commissioning Course No 5 at ASL Adorns 60 Warrant Officers

The Quartermaster Commissioning Course (QMCC) No-5 at the Army School of Logistics (ASL) in Trincomalee culminated on Wednesday (September 28) with award of insignia to the course attendees.
Sixty (60) Warrant Officers from various Regiments in the Sri Lanka Army completed the Course No-5 which commenced on 18 July 2022, and passed out as Probation Officers (PO) adding a new chapter to the ASL history. The course was designed to transform qualified and suitable selected Warrant Officers of the Sri Lanka Army Regular Force and Volunteer Force to qualify as Quartermasters.
The adorning of insignia and certificate awarding was held at the ASL parade ground and the occasion was attended by the Commandant ASL, Brigadier Menaka Fernando as the Chief Guest. On his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel G.T.S Silva, ASL Chief Instructor.
Adding more significance, all Probation Officers were awarded symbolic canes by the Chief Guest. Furthermore, the probation officer, D.R.V Wickramasingha of Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps who obtained the highest aggregate in the course was awarded a special token of appreciation by the Chief Guest at the same ceremony.
