Major General Priyantha Weerasinghe, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area -North Central (FMA-North Central) on May 25 in collaboration with farmers in Shravasthipura motivated them to re-cultivate those paddy-fields that have been abandoned due to lack of fertilizer. The senior officer harnessing the support and expertise of state authorities on agriculture imparted knowledge on organic farming and motivated those farmers to re-start their ploughing and cultivating.
All the support and guidance given by the Army finally bore fruit as those farming communities assembled together to reap the new bountiful harvest.
