Aimed at promoting the cultivation of indigenous medicinal plants, the 65 Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni during a simple ceremony established an 'Osu Uyana' on Friday (16) inside the 65 Division camp premises in Thunukkai.

Major General Prasad Edirisinghe, General Officer Commanding – 65 Division graced the inaugural occasion as the Chief Guest. More than 200 indigenous medicinal plants, including about 70 rare varieties were planted during the event.

The Division further intends to establish such gardens in formations and units unde the 65 Division HQ with the objective of preserving valuable herbal plants for future generations. The event was coordinated by the General Staff Officer 1 (Coord) Lieutenant Colonel Rasika Kumara. 65 Division's Officers and Other Ranks joined the occasion.
