QMG & MGO Undertake Inspection Visits to SFHQ-Jaffna, Hospital & Divisions

The Quarter Master General (QMG), Major General Prasanna Ranawaka and Master General Ordnance (MGO), Major General Hirosh Wanigasekara under the guidance of the Commander of the Army undertook a visit to several areas of responsibility of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna on Monday (5) in order to address matters, pertaining to administration and quartering of soldiers serving respective branches in the peninsula.

As per directions of the Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wijayasundera, the visit was coordinated by Brigadier Cliford De Zoysa, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area-North, together with Brigadier Administration and Quartering- SFHQ-J, Brigadier Anura Bandara.

They both visited the Palaly Army Base Hospital at first and inspected the progress of ongoing construction of the Hospital complex, its kitchen, and the Operation Theatre. Subsequently, their visits covered 522 Brigade HQ, 15 (V) Battalion of Gajaba Regiment and inspection of the ORs’ Accommodation Q stores, ration stores, and cookhouse functions.

As the second segment of the day's itinerary, both senior officers visited the 52 Division HQ where a drive past Guard Turnout greeted them. A comprehensive conference on Logistics, presided jointly by the visiting QMG and the MGO got underway next at the 52 Division conference hall, attended by the Commander FMA-N, All GOCs, BAQs, Brigade Commanders, Colonel AQs, and Staff Officers of relevant headquarters.
