The Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL) Basic Course No. 31 continued from 15 August to 01 September at the International Peace Support Operation Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) at Kukulegannga under the supervision of the Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law at the Army Headquarters.

20 Officers and 46 Other Ranks attended the course along with 3 Navy Officers and Other Ranks and 2 Air Force Officers and Other Ranks.

The Best Officer Award of the course was awarded to Lieutenant Colonel P.S.J Fernando of the Sri Lanka Engineers and the Best Other Ranks Award of the Course went to Sergeant H.M.S.K Senevirathna of the Special Forces.

Brigadier Rasika Kumara, Director, Directorate of HR & IHL at Army Headquarters graced the awarding ceremony as the chief guest. Senior Officers including Instructing Officers attended the culmination of the course.
