A timely important and pertinent lecture on 'Media and Army' was delivered by Brigadier Nilantha Premarathna, Director, Directorate of Media on Wednesday (17) for Officers and Other Ranks at the Directorate of Army Band and Performing Arts at Ratmalana with the intention of broadening their knowledge on Media and its collaboration with the Army.

The lecture focused on the introduction to Media, soldiers’ responsibilities towards society, public perception management, Media-military relationship, social media etiquette and adverse effects of using social media and the manner of dealing with the public in a responsible manner, social development through positive attitudes, common mindsets of the members of the public, etc.

The lecture also underlined the importance of not being a victim of disinformation and misinformation and also the ways and means of managing the Media and the public to promote the image of the Sri Lanka Army, particularly during this decisive and economic crisis context.

Director, Army Band and Performing Arts, and a few senior Officers attended the arrangement.
