Army Cricket Team Enters Final First Class Major Cricket Tournament

The Sri Lanka Army Cricket team for the first time beating 26 more 1st Class Major Cricket teams qualified for the finals in the one-day cricket tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Cricket Control Board.

This tournament was held under two island-wide categories as A & B and Army players competed in the B category.

In the quarter finals, the Army team played against ACE Capital CC at the NCC ground on 30 July and won bagging 123 scores.

Finals will be held on 2nd August with Tamil Union Cricket Club at SSC grounds.

Major General Sanjaya Wanasingha, Chairman, Army Cricket Committee and all other members are providing necessary incentives for the success of the Army team in the finals.

Vice Chairman of the Army Cricket Committee, Major General Shiran Abeysekara, Secretary to the Army Cricket Committee, Colonel D.P.S.I Dias and the former player in the Sri Lanka National team, Major Tisara Perera provided the necessary guidance to the Army cricketers.

Major Tisara Perera, Lance Corporal L.E.K Edirisinghe, Private K.W.S.L Fernando and Warrant Officer Seekkuge Prassanna bowling rival teams with 28 wickets played prominently during the tournament until the team entered the finals.
